Is Dermal Filler safe?

Does it hurt, and how long does it last?

Dermal filler injections are generally comfortable because the fillers we use contain a local anaesthetic. To provide extra comfort in most cases we pre-numb the area with a topical numbing cream to help make the procedure more manageable.

The longevity of your dermal fillers depends on several factors, including the type of filler used, the area treated, and your individual metabolism and lifestyle. Typically, thinner fillers last between 6 to 9 months, while thicker fillers can last up to 2 years. Over time, your body naturally breaks down the hyaluronic acid.

When will I see results?

The beauty of dermal fillers is that the results are immediate—you’ll notice the difference right after your treatment. However, immediately after you will most likely also have some temporary swelling and in some cases there may be some bruising.  To reduce these side effects, we advise avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications before your appointment. Afterward, to aid in the healing process, avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, and applying pressure to the treated areas. Ice can also help manage any swelling. 

Dermal fillers can be combined with anti-wrinkle injections or other treatments to achieve optimal results. 

Can Dermal Filler be dissolved?

Yes, we can safely dissolve dermal fillers, This is done by injecting an enzyme called Hyalase to break down the filler.
